2010 - 2011 was a wonderful year of growth for Region 1. We warmly welcomed District 26 to our Region and we all celebrated when three of our Districts finished in the top twenty Districts in the world on June 30, 2011. Congratulations to Districts 21, 2 and 9, who finished in 15th, 16th and 17th place respectively!

With the introduction of our new brand and tag line, "Toastmasters - Where Leaders are Made", we have made a promise to the world, and we anticipate new growth in this coming year. Communication is truly the path to quality leadership, and we encourage each Toastmaster and potential Toastmaster to embrace this theme and work to grow their skills in both our Leadership and Communication tracks. Current leaders can be mentoring our future leaders, thus ensuring the strength and quality of our organization for years to come.

I wish you all great success this year, and look forward to seeing all of our Region 1 Districts on the World Stage next August, accepting their Distinguished (or better!) District awards.
